As a ReDefiners Academic Achiever Tutor, you'll work one-on-one with K-5 students to build literacy skills that open doors for a brighter future.

Position: AmeriCorps Foster Grand Parents FGP Academic Tutor (55+)
Where: Tampa locations — ReDefiners Office or partner elementary schools
Time Commitment: As little as 1 hour/week for 8 weeks (flexible weekday or Saturday hours)
Who We’re Looking For: Caring adults 55+ who are fluent in English (Spanish speakers especially welcome!)

• Provide 1-on-1 tutoring in reading for K–5 students
• Share brief progress updates with caregivers
• Attend simple trainings and team check-ins (all virtual or local)

You’ll get full training, support, and resources—no teaching experience needed!

The Teaching Programs Volunteer will support both classroom and administrative tasks by assisting language teachers, preparing materials and support program operations, data entry, and the coordination of resources for teachers and students. 

Location: Remote

Overview: We are seeking a creative and skilled Blog Writer Volunteer with a passion for language teaching to help generate engaging and informative content for our language school. This role is ideal for someone with experience in language education who wants to contribute their expertise to support our mission of promoting multilingualism and cultural understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write and develop high-quality blog posts on topics related to language learning, teaching methodologies, cultural insights, and school updates.
• Conduct research to ensure accuracy and depth in each blog post.
• Collaborate with our team to brainstorm content ideas that align with our school’s goals and audience interests.
• Optimize blog content for SEO to increase visibility and engagement.
• Edit and proofread posts for clarity, grammar, and style consistency.
• Adhere to deadlines and manage multiple writing projects simultaneously.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in writing, ideally with a portfolio of blog posts or articles.
• Background in language teaching or education, with knowledge of English, Spanish, Mandarin, or Arabic being highly desirable.
• Strong research skills and the ability to translate complex information into accessible and engaging content.
• Excellent command of the English language, with impeccable grammar and writing skills.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently.

• Capture high-quality photographs and videos of our events, programs, and activities.
• Edit and produce photos and videos to create compelling content for various platforms, including social media, website, and promotional materials.
• Collaborate with our team to understand the content needs and align the visuals with our brand and message.
• Attend events and programs at different locations within the Tampa Bay Area.
• Manage and organize digital files, ensuring proper labeling and storage.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in photography and videography (portfolio or examples of previous work required).
• Own professional-grade photography and videography equipment (camera, lenses, tripod, lighting, etc.).
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various locations within the Tampa Bay Area.
• Flexibility to attend events, sometimes on weekends or evenings.
