ABOUT THE PROGRAM

More than a summer camp.
A cultural adventure.

ReDefiners' Spanish Summer STEAM Adventure is a one-of-a-kind, full-day program designed for children ages 6–12. Each summer, we build the curriculum around a different Latin American or Caribbean culture—and in 2026, kids will discover the Dominican Republic through language, music, food, sports, science, and art.

Kids don't just learn about Spanish—they live it. Every activity, game, song, and project happens in a bilingual environment that makes language feel natural and exciting, whether your child is a complete beginner or already speaks Spanish at home.

Hosted locally in Temple Terrace, Tampa, with qualified bilingual educators and FBI-screened staff, this is a summer your child will talk about all year.

2026 THEME

¡Bienvenidos a la
República Dominicana!

Every week, kids travel culturally through one of the most vibrant, music-filled, and community-centered nations in the Caribbean. Six cultural pillars shape everything—from Monday morning to Friday afternoon.

🎵

Merengue & Bachata

The two national musical symbols of the Dominican Republic. Kids learn rhythms, steps, and call-and-response songs that make Spanish vocabulary stick naturally—through movement and joy.

🍲

Dominican Cuisine

Mangú, La Bandera Dominicana, tostones, fresh fruit. Food is culture. Themed food days give kids a delicious connection to the island and open conversations about Taíno, Spanish, and African heritage.

Baseball as Culture

Baseball isn't just a sport in the Dominican Republic—it's a way of life. Kids play the game framed as a cultural experience: community pride, Spanish play-by-play, and Dominican spirit on the field.

🎨

Carnaval Arts & Crafts

Colorful masks, vibrant patterns, and parade-inspired projects drawn from Dominican carnival traditions. STEAM-friendly exploration of symmetry, design, and materials science through cultural art.

🌍

Language & Identity

Spanish is the official language and the heartbeat of Dominican identity. Kids build real conversational confidence by using it in context—not as a subject, but as the medium of the entire day.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Family & Community

Dominican society is built around family and community. Kids experience storytelling, group celebrations, and shared activities that reflect these values—building friendships that last beyond summer.

DAILY ACTIVITIES

Every day is a
New adventure.

No two days are the same. Our full-day schedule blends language, culture, STEAM, and physical activity so kids are always engaged—and always having fun.

My daughter loves camp, however says very little Spanish is spoken.. I am hoping for more use of real life Spanish in class as prior with my older children's Redefiners in person classes years ago before it transitioned to online.
